The History Behind Our International Logistics ServicesThe foundation and development of Jerich International as a global logistics group.

The development of global markets and the increasing complexity of international supply chains have shaped Jerich International from the very beginning. What started as a regional logistics business evolved over decades into a globally connected group with a strong operational foundation. Our history reflects how our international logistics services have grown in response to changing customer requirements, new markets and increasingly complex transport networks.

From Regional Roots to International Logistics Services

A Legacy of Logistics. A Future of Excellence. Shaping Progress One Milestone at a Time.

Founded in 1969 by Herbert Jerich, the company developed steadily from a regional logistics provider into an internationally active logistics group. Over the years, Jerich expanded its transport expertise, operational structures and service portfolio in line with growing market demands. This continuous development laid the foundation for the international logistics services that define the group today.

Early Milestones in the Development of Our International Logistics Services

A major milestone followed in 1989 with the establishment of Jerich Italia, the group’s first market-specific external warehouse in Cittadella, Italy. The site offered consignment warehousing, part-load solutions and just-in-time services tailored to customer requirements. Today, located in Marghera near Venice, Jerich Italia focuses on container stuffing and shipments to the Middle East, supported by direct port access and combined rail transport connections. This development marked an important step in the international expansion of Jerich’s logistics services.

Expanding Horizons. Strengthening Connections. The Development of Jerich Germany: A Look at Our History and International Expansion

In 1998, Jerich Germany commenced operations with the DC Wesel logistics center for Sappi. Over time, the facility developed into a comprehensive service and transport platform serving Germany, Scandinavia and the Netherlands. As volumes increased and customer requirements evolved, the site was expanded further, strengthening Jerich’s international logistics services within Europe.

Since 2000, the Gleisdorf terminal has served as a central coordination hub for Eastern Europe and Turkey. During the same period, Jerich International expanded beyond Europe with subsidiaries in New Jersey, Charleston and Los Angeles. These developments further reinforced the group’s international presence and broadened the scope of its logistics services across regions.

Integrated Structures as a Key Step in Our Growth

From Regional Expertise to Global Reach — Jerich International Expands Its Network Across Europe and the United States, Strengthening Its Position as a Leading Provider of Integrated Logistics Solutions.

By 2015, Jerich’s external warehouses were closely linked with regional sales offices, creating integrated structures tailored to customer-specific requirements. Services such as inventory management, time-slot booking, transport planning and value-added services were coordinated across locations and supported by advanced EDP and EDI systems.

A multilingual management team trained at the Gleisdorf headquarters helps maintain consistent standards and coordinated processes throughout the network. This ongoing development reflects how Jerich International has continuously expanded its international logistics services while building long-term partnerships and taking responsibility beyond traditional freight forwarding.
